    About the Role

    Senior Health Care Support Worker, Chemotherapy Treatment Unit, CCC Liverpool, part-time 28.5 hours, Permanent.

    8-6 Monday to Friday with the potential of Saturday working in the future. An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to work alongside and support our chemotherapy team. The post provides support to Registered Nurses and other members of the multi-professional team to deliver nursing care and treatment within the outpatient chemotherapy environment and includes the chemotherapy network clinics. The Senior Health Care Support Worker role also involves the undertaking of clerical duties; providing hands-on care, assistance and emotional support to patients and their relatives; performing phlebotomy, performing observations of T.P.R. BM urinalysis and monitoring blood transfusions patients, recording observations and maintaining documentation of. Excellent communication skills are essential and cannulation experience is desired. The successful candidate should have efficient computer skills to ensure that patients are correctly clerked and details inputted are accurate. The main skill that will achieved through training is access to central venous access devices. General healthcare duties include supporting patients and caring for them and their ADLs

    Main Duties

    This position would suit a friendly, happy and approachable person who has some experience in healthcare. Due to the nature of the patient’s treatment, they may feel comfortable talking to HCSW as they can be the first person they meet when arriving on the unit.

    • To assist chemotherapy nursing staff
    • To undertake clerical duties
    • To provide hands-on care, assistance and emotional support to patients and their relatives
    • To provide indirect support, as part of the Chemotherapy Nursing Team, to ensure that the area to which they are assigned functions effectively.

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience as a UX/UI Designer in the gaming or interactive media industry, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design process and results.
    • Proven experience leading and mentoring a UX/UI design team, with the ability to guide design strategies and manage team workflows.Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, or similar software.
    • Experience with prototyping tools (e.g., InVision, Marvel, Principle) to create interactive prototypes.
    • Excellent knowledge of Unity.
    • Strong understanding of user-centred design principles, user interface guidelines, usability, and accessibility standards.
    • Ability to effectively communicate design ideas and rationale, and to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
    • Experience in conducting user research, usability testing, and incorporating feedback into design iterations.
    • Excellent attention to detail and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.
    • Knowledge of mobile gaming trends and familiarity with responsive design principles is a plus.

    About the Role

    If so we’d love to hear from you. This is an opportunity for an HCSW to develop clinically, personally and professionally in an autonomous and motivated environment. We will provide a 2-week supernumerary period and a comprehensive training package, supported by our Educational facilitators. We are a friendly supportive, and well-established team that provides expert cancer treatment and much-needed continuity of care and support to patients.

    Within Ambulatory Care we care for and deliver treatment to patients with haematological disorders who are at all stages of their cancer journey, this includes patients who are undergoing bone marrow transplantation and CAR-T Cell Therapy. We are a fast-paced innovative new service that promotes independence for patients.

    Ambulatory Care enables patients to receive the same life-saving treatment that the inpatient setting offers but in a more relaxed setting that enables the patient to return home at the end of the day to their families. This innovative approach enables patients to maintain independence and normality during such a challenging time in their lives.

    This role also comes with the opportunity to experience working between alternative areas within the directorate when required, with the main focus remaining in the Ambulatory Care unit.

    Main Duties

    The post holder will develop professionally and personally within Ambulatory care, with the vast skills and knowledge they will obtain during this career.

    The main clinical duties included in this role are:

    • Venepuncture and Cannulation
    • Dressing changes
    • Basic patient monitoring
    • Direct supportive patient care
    • Blood glucose monitoring
    • Urinalysis testing
    • Pregnancy testing

    Administrative duties:

    • Stock management
    • Patient accommodation booking

    Qualifications

    Essential
