    Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarship

    To be considered for this scholarship:

    • You must be aged 18-24 on 1st October 2024 (i.e. you must have been born after 1 October 1999 and before 2 October 2006).

    OR for medical, dental, pharmaceutical, law and engineering students, to allow you to complete your professional internship

    • You must be aged 18-25 on 1st October 2024 (i.e. you must have been born after 1 October 1998 and before 2 October 2006)

    OR for older candidates who completed their first undergraduate degree later than usual

    • You must be under the age of 27 on 1st October 2024 (i.e. have been born after 1 October 1997) AND you must also have completed your first undergraduate degree on or after 1 October 2023
    • You must have completed an undergraduate degree (normally a Bachelor’s degree) by the application deadline with an academic background and grade that is a First Class Honours Degree or equivalent which meets or exceeds the specific entry requirements of your chosen full-time course at the University of Oxford; in the case of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy courses, the highest classification your University awards, e.g. a Distinction would be considered equivalent to a First Class Honours Degree.
    • To take up a place on one of our courses, you must be able to demonstrate English language proficiency at the University’s standard or higher level. You do not need to provide evidence of English language proficiency if you meet one of the following criteria:
    • Your first language is English and you have always been a citizen of and primarily resident in a majority English-speaking country recognised by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI); or
    • You are a current Oxford student applying for readmission.

    Benefits of the Scholarship

    • The Rhodes Scholarship covers Oxford University course fees, as well as providing an annual stipend. For the 2023/24 academic year, the stipend is £19,092 per annum (£1,591 per month) from which Scholars pay all living expenses, including accommodation. Please note – this is not sufficient to cover partners or dependents.

    • Have already received a conditional/unconditional offer to study the MSc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at the University of Birmingham
    • Be ordinarily resident in the UK and would be classified as UK for fee-paying purposes, OR be classed as an international student for fee-paying purposes
    • Applications will be considered by a selection panel at the School of Computer Science and shortlisted based on the above eligibility categories, and providing any additional supporting documentation and evidence (if required).

    Benefits of the Scholarship

    There are currently two scholarships available, one UK and one international.

    The UK scholarship available is valued at £34,225. The value of the scholarship is applied against:

    • A maintenance grant of £18,985 (to use for living costs), paid in instalments throughout the course

    The International scholarship is valued at £56,525. The value of the scholarship is applied against:

    • A maintenance grant of £19,345 (to use for living costs), paid in instalments throughout the course
    • Funding of up to £2,200 to attend an international conference in the field of AI and/or Machine Learning during the course as well
    • £1,700 towards the purchase of essential equipment (suitable laptop etc.).
    • £1,870 to assist with relocation expenses

    Eligibility Criteria for the Fellowship

    • Anyone applying to an EPFL master’s program is eligible. EPFL grants a limited number of fellowships to the most deserving candidates based on their academic records.
    • Applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree
    • Cumulating this fellowship with other substantial scholarships is not possible. Candidates are required to declare all the scholarships they receive during their master’s (see section 4.2).
    • If the master at EPFL is a second master’s degree, candidates are not eligible for an excellence fellowship.

    Benefits of the Fellowship

    • CHF 10’000 per semester
    • Reservation of a student room in a student residence (for “external” candidates only)
    • A certificate of excellence (at the end of the master’s program)

    Selection Process

    The selection of candidates and the granting of the fellowships are based on the evaluation of the academic records of the candidates. The Fellowship Committee, comprising members of the EPFL sections Representatives of the Associate Vice-Presidencies for Student Affairs and Outreach as well as for education and representatives from other school services, selects the candidates. The selection process is very competitive, only about 3% of the master’s students receive such financial support

    MTN Foundation in 2010, established the MTN Scholarships Program, an annual award that recognizes and rewards eligible high-performing students in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions in 3 categories: MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (MTN STS), MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (MTN SBS), Top 10 UTME Scholarship.

    MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (MTN STS) since 2010, has been open to eligible 300-level students studying Science & Technology-related courses, in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education). 300 students are awarded scholarships until graduation upon meeting grade requirements. Starting in 2024, the annual award amount has increased from ₦200,000 to ₦300,000.

    MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (MTN SBS) since 2012 has been targeted at eligible 200 and 300-level blind students studying any course in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education). Starting in 2024, the number of blind students to receive scholarships has increased from 60 to 100. The annual award amount also increased from ₦200,000 to ₦300,000 and will be awarded until graduation if grade requirements are met.

    Top 10 UTME Scholarship since 2020, the top 10 scoring candidates of UTME as announced by JAMB, automatically qualify for the top 10 UTME scholarship. The candidates are awarded scholarships from their 100 level through to graduation upon meeting grade requirements. Starting in 2024, the annual award amount has increased from ₦200,000 to ₦300,000. The Top 10 UTME Scholarship is awarded irrespective of the successful candidates’ preferred course of study or Tertiary Institution – Public or Private in Nigeria

    MTN Foundation was established in 2004 to manage CSR initiatives for MTN Nigeria Communications PLC; one of the first corporates in Nigeria to launch such an initiative. It was commissioned in May 2005 with MTN Nigeria Communication PLC committing up to 1% of its Profit after Tax (PAT) as its main source of funding for projects.

    MTN Foundation has invested over NGN24.73 Billion in the 36 states of the federation and FCT. MTN Foundation has over 1,023 project sites across Nigeria with 50 unique projects which span across 3,323 communities and reach over 31,386,125 people.

    Institution of Study

    Course of Study

    • MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS) is open to 300 level students studying Science & Technology related courses, in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education).
    • MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) is open to 200 & 300-level Blind students studying any course in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education).

    Level of Study

    MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS):

    • The application is open to students who have completed their second semester 200 level examinations going to the 300 level and students currently in their 300 level as we understand that the academic calendar is not aligned across all public tertiary institutions.

    The MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS):

    • The application is open to 200 & 300-level blind students in any Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education). However, for blind students studying Law, which is a 5 years course, only 300 level students can apply for the MTN Scholarship.

    Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)

    The MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS):

    • STEM Students in Public Universities and Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) score of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (second-class upper credit)
    • STEM Students in Public Polytechnics must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.
    • Direct-level STEM students must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) program and must have secured admission into 300 level/3rd year in a Public University.

    MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS):

    • Blind Students in the Universities or Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5
    • Blind Students in Public Polytechnics must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.

    Benefits of the Scholarship

    • These scholarships have a value of ₦300,000 annually

    The Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE), the Bucharest University of Economic Studies Students’ Union (USASE) through the Students’ Senate, the Association of Faculties of Economics from Romania (AFER), with the academic mentoring of the Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages (FABIZ) gladly invites you to take part in one of this summer’s most interesting educational experiences: Bucharest Summer University.

    The 18th edition of the international summer school, held annually in Bucharest, gathers students from all over the world to discuss different topics in the economics field. The courses will take place between the 11th and 25th of August 2024.

    Together with speakers and professors from top universities and companies around the world, more than 40 participants will spend 2 weeks on the campus of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, including one extended weekend to explore particular destinations across the country. This year’s topic is Digital Transformation For New Business Models.

    The Bucharest Summer University is the official summer school of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies organised annually by the Bucharest University of Economic Studies Students’ Union (USASE) and the ASE Students’ Senate, with the academic mentorship of one of the eleven faculties from our university. This international cultural and academic event will take place every year in August in Bucharest, Romania.

    Besides the two weeks of classes, this event represents a great opportunity for the participants to discover a new culture through a series of planned recreational events and challenging activities, such as the Bucharest City Tour, an adventurous trip in Romania, team building, social events, and Global Village.
