Fully Funded Masters Scholarship at the University of Alberta Canada 2024

A researcher working in the Master of Science Water Resources Engineering Program is looking to welcome a Masters student (domestic and international) at the University of Alberta to collaborate with other scholars in a research project.

The Water Resources Engineering group at the University of Alberta is a very Knowledgeable, supportive, and collaborative group. Students learn from experts in a variety of Fields (e.g., river ice, fluid mechanics, water management) and have the opportunity to present their own research at local, national, and international conferences. There are also many opportunities for professional development in areas including research communication and teaching.

The selected student will join a joint research group from the Department of Civil Engineering that focuses on understanding river ice processes.

Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarship

  • An undergraduate degree in civil or environmental engineering, or in a related field.
  • 0 GPA on a 4.0 scale on the most recent two-years of full-time study (or equivalent) (MSc Program)
  • 0 GPA on a 4.0 scale on the most recent two-years of full-time study (or equivalent) (MEng Program)
  • 3 GPA on a 4.0 scale on the most recent two-years of full-time study (or equivalent) (PhD Program)
  • English Language Proficiency

Benefits of the Scholarship

  • For a Canadian student, we will guarantee a minimum level of funding of $24,000/year for 2 years.
  • For an international student, we will guarantee a minimum of $26,400/year for 2 years to help cover the increased tuition paid by international students.
  • Students Are also eligible for scholarships and awards and can earn extra money by optionally working as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Graduate students at the U of A also have access to benefits including a health and dental plan, subsidised access to local transit systems, and support for graduate students who are parents.
