NDDC Post-Graduate (Master’s Degree) Scholarships 2024/2025

The Niger Delta Commission (NDDC) is now accepting applications for its Master’s Scholarship programme.

To further boost Human Resource Development in the Niger Delta region, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), is once again embarking on its Foreign Post Graduate Scholarship Programme to equip our young people with relevant training and skills for effective participation in the local content programme of the Federal Government, as well as enable them to acquire specialization in their fields of study and thus compete globally in various professional disciplines. The scheme is for suitably qualified applicants, with relevant Bachelor’s Degrees from recognized Universities in the following professional disciplines: Agricultural Science, Engineering, Environmental Science, Geosciences, Information Technology, Medical Sciences and Law.

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) was founded in the year 2000 with the objective of fostering swift, equitable, and enduring progress within the Niger Delta region. Its aim is to transform the area into one that thrives economically, maintains social harmony, promotes environmental restoration, and ensures political tranquillity.

Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarship

  • Applicant must be from the Niger Delta Region
  • Applicant must hold a First Class, Second Class Upper, or Lower Division Bachelor Degree
  • Applicant must not be older than 40yrs

Benefits of the Scholarship

The amount for the foreign scholarship shall be based on the prevailing exchange rate of the Naira. The amount will cover tuition fees, stipends, accommodation and travel expenses

Selection Criteria

  1. Initial Application: Interested candidates must submit an online application via the Commission’s website.
  2. Preliminary Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on the following criteria:
  3. WASSCE/NECO results
  4. Undergraduate degree classification (1st Class, Second Class Upper/Lower)
  5. Local Government Identification
  6. Computer-Based Test: Shortlisted candidates will undergo a computer-based test conducted by our consultants in Rivers State
  7. Minimum Test Score: Candidates must achieve a minimum score of 70% on the test to proceed to the next stage.
  8. Further Shortlisting: Candidates who successfully pass the test will be further shortlisted.
  9. Final Verification: The final verification of the candidates will be done through the Local Government Area (LGA) and Community Development Committee (CDC)

Required Documents

  1. Recent passport photograph
  2. Local Government Identification Letter
  3. Post Graduate admission from a recognized overseas university
  4. Relevant degrees from recognized universities
  5. NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate

NOTE: Preference will be given to candidates from Oil Producing Host/Communities/Local Government Areas as long as candidates meet the approved cut-off mark.
