Scholarships for Sustainable Energy Development Msc Program at University of Calgary

The University of Calgary is offering scholarship opportunities for domestic and international students enrolled in the Sustainable Energy Development MSc Programme.

This master’s degree is an interdisciplinary graduate program providing a balanced education related to energy and environmental management. A combined offering through the School of Public Policy, Haskayne School of Business, Schulich School of Engineering, School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape, and the Faculty of Law, it is a singular and innovative program designed for professionals and students seeking a comprehensive education in sustainable energy.

The curriculum is delivered by recognized experts, leading academics, and professionals from the associated faculties who work together to ensure the courses are relevant to today’s energy sector.

Our alumni can be found in a variety of roles within oil and gas, renewable energy, government organizations, and environmental consultation.

The available scholarships are the School of Public Policy MSc in Sustainable Energy Development Scholarship, the Roger and Mona Creasey Memorial Graduate Scholarship and the Canadian Energy Research Institute (CERI) Graduate Scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarship

  • To be considered for the scholarships students must be enrolled in the SEDV Programme.
  • Students must have strong academic achievements
  • Your research must relate to Canadian energy, economics, policy, and sustainability (CERI Scholarship)
  • Your research must relate to the cumulative effects of energy development activities in Canada on a species or ecosystem leading to recommendations for its conservation or management (Roger and Mona Creasey Memorial Graduate Scholarship)

Benefits of the Scholarship

  • The Roger and Mona Creasey Memorial Graduate Scholarship is $2,200 to one student each year.
  • The Canadian Energy Research Institute (CERI) Graduate Scholarship is $15,000 to two students each year.
  • The School of Public Policy MSc in Sustainable Energy Development Scholarship is $5,000 to $10,000 to twelve students each year.

Required Documents

  1. Letter of intent of no more than 1000 words, addressing four questions provided on the SEDV admissions website. Each question must be answered in no more than 250 words.
  2. A current curriculum vitae.
  3. Two years of professional work experience after graduation.
  4. Two reference letters: one academic and one professional.
  5. A non-refundable application fee for each application to a graduate degree program. $125 for Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents, $145 for international students with a study permit.
  6. Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended. Original documents or certified true copies of each of your official transcripts and degree certificates, in the original sealed envelope, sent directly from the issuing University.
  7. Official TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, CAEL, GMAT, GRE scores and/or other requirements of the program for which application is being made.
